10-Shade Professional Brow Color Guide

The descriptions below identify each shade’s general visual direction. Digital swatches, photographs and written descriptions are selection references only. Final selection should also consider the client’s natural hair and brow color, skin undertone, existing PMU, chosen technique and intended healed depth.

Shade SKU Undertone · Depth Professional Color Direction
Black CTPM-P-6ML-019 Neutral-black · Very deep An intense black direction for highly defined professional plans or controlled depth adjustment. Use conservatively in brow work and assess the intended healed result carefully.
Ink Brown CTPM-P-6ML-020 Cool · Deep An ash-gray dark brown for professionally assessed brow plans requiring cooler, stronger definition.
Cocoa Brown CTPM-P-6ML-021 Neutral · Medium-deep A balanced cocoa brown for medium-deep brow planning and compatible custom formulas.
Latte Brown CTPM-P-6ML-022 Neutral-cool · Light-medium A soft, balanced brown with subtle coolness for lighter and softly defined brow plans.
Sandy Brown CTPM-P-6ML-023 Neutral · Light A muted sandy beige-brown for soft blonde-to-light-brown visual directions.
Toffee Brown CTPM-P-6ML-024 Warm · Light A soft caramel-brown with gentle golden warmth for lighter warm brow plans.
Espresso Brown CTPM-P-6ML-025 Neutral · Deep A rich coffee brown providing deep definition without automatically selecting black.
Golden Blend CTPM-P-6ML-026 Warm · Light A golden-brown brow color that may also serve as a controlled warming component in compatible professional formulas.
Amber Brown CTPM-P-6ML-027 Warm · Light-medium A honey-golden amber brown with only light red influence, not a red-brown or burgundy shade.
Cafe Brown CTPM-P-6ML-030 Neutral · Medium A balanced coffee brown for natural medium-brown planning, compatible mixing and final-tone refinement.

One Compact Palette for Five Professional Brow Techniques

Powder Brows

Select the anchor shade according to the intended healed intensity, not only the color visible immediately after application. Light, medium and deep options allow artists to plan anything from soft pixelated shading to stronger definition.

Ombré Brows

Plan softer saturation at the brow front and progressively greater visual depth toward the body and tail. Shade choice, dilution, implantation and saturation should be documented for later assessment and touch-ups.

Machine Hairstrokes

Match the pigment direction to the client’s natural brow hair, skin undertone and intended healed definition. Stroke spacing, needle selection, implantation and tissue response remain just as important as the selected color.

Combination Brows

When combining hairstrokes and shading, consider that one pigment can display differently across the two techniques because saturation and implantation are not identical.

Microblading

Use only when the client, skin and product are suitable for the planned manual hairstroke procedure. Professional assessment and controlled implantation are required.

How to Choose a Brow Pigment Shade

A client’s visible skin tone is only one part of shade selection. Before choosing a pigment, assess:

  • Natural brow hair and head-hair color
  • Visible skin undertone
  • Existing healed permanent makeup
  • Planned brow technique
  • Desired healed depth and softness
  • Skin characteristics and expected healing response
  • Client lifestyle, skincare and aftercare

Do not select a shade from a portrait, digital swatch or hair color alone. Screen settings, lighting and photography can change how a color appears online.

Can the 10 Brow Shades Be Mixed?

Compatible Powder Hybrid shades intended for brow procedures may be mixed to create intermediate colors or adjust warmth, depth and softness when professionally appropriate.

  • Mix only compatible pigments intended for the same procedure category.
  • Follow the applicable product instructions before combining shades.
  • Do not add water or an unapproved thinning product.
  • Use Golden Blend as a controlled warming component where professionally appropriate.
  • Record exact shade names, batch information and mixing ratios.
  • Assess the fully healed result before changing a formula for a future procedure.

Mixing can affect color, concentration, handling and healed appearance. There is no universal mixing ratio suitable for every client.

Standard Brow Selection Is Not Brow Color Correction

This 10-shade collection is designed primarily for standard brow color selection and compatible custom mixing. It is not a universal correction chart and does not remove existing permanent makeup.

Fully healed brows showing unwanted blue, blue-gray, violet, cool-gray, red or orange color shifts require a separate professional assessment. Dense, excessively dark, migrated, scarred or not fully healed previous pigment may not be suitable for direct correction.

For a dedicated five-color system containing Vivid Orange, Golden Blend, Olive Brown, Copper Brown and Cafe Brown, view the YDPMU Brow Color Correction Pigment Set.

What Does Powder Hybrid Mean?

“Powder Hybrid” is the YDPMU formula-system name. These pigments are supplied in liquid form and combine organic and inorganic colorant components within the finished formulation.

The hybrid category does not by itself guarantee one fixed healed color, retention period or result for every client. Shade-specific colorants and ingredient declarations vary, so always refer to the selected bottle label and corresponding product documentation.

Learn more in the Organic vs. Inorganic vs. Hybrid PMU Pigments Guide.

Storage and Handling

  • Follow the storage and expiration information printed on the product label.
  • Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Shake thoroughly before every use.
  • Keep the bottle securely closed when not in use.
  • Prevent cross-contamination during dispensing.
  • Do not use if the seal, packaging or pigment condition appears compromised.

Healed Results and Retention

Fresh and healed pigment appearance can differ. Final color, softness, fading and retention vary according to the selected shade or mixture, natural undertone, existing PMU, skin characteristics, brow technique, implantation, saturation, healing response, lifestyle, skincare and aftercare.

No fixed healed shade or universal retention period can be guaranteed. Evaluate results only after the appropriate healing period.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I buy one shade instead of the complete set?

Yes. Select one individual 6ml shade or choose the Full 10-Shade Set containing all 10 colors in 6ml bottles.

Is this a powder or liquid pigment?

The pigment is supplied in liquid form. Powder Hybrid refers to the YDPMU formula system and its organic and inorganic colorant combination.

What is the difference between this 6ml collection and the 12ml brow range?

This listing offers a compact 10-color palette in 6ml bottles and can be purchased as single shades or a complete set. The 12ml brow page offers larger individual bottles and also includes Olive Brown and Copper Brown as additional selectable shades.

Do I need to mix the shades?

No. Mixing is optional. An individual shade may be used when it already suits the professionally assessed client and treatment plan.

Can Black be used for every client with black hair?

No. Hair color alone does not determine the correct pigment. Black is a very deep option and should be selected conservatively after assessing skin undertone, natural brow hair, technique, existing PMU and intended healed intensity. Espresso Brown or Ink Brown may provide a more suitable deep-brown direction for many brow plans.

Will the healed brows look exactly like the bottle or digital swatch?

No exact result can be guaranteed. Skin undertone, existing pigment, technique, implantation, healing, lifestyle, skincare and aftercare all influence the healed appearance.

How long will the pigment remain visible?

There is no universal retention period. Longevity and touch-up needs vary by client, shade, technique, implantation, skin characteristics, treatment history and aftercare.

Can I request product documentation?

Yes. Contact YDPMU with the exact shade name, SKU and destination market to request the currently available product documentation or market-specific testing information for eligible shades.
