Frequently Asked Questions
Can Powder White be used as a standalone lip color?
Powder White is formulated as a corrective and mixing tool, not a standalone lip color—applied alone, it heals to a white tone that appears unnatural as a finished lip color on most clients. Its value is entirely in its corrective and mixing function. The only exception: some advanced artists use a very diluted White (mixed with a small amount of any pink or peach shade) as an ultra-subtle brightening base layer under the final lip color for clients with dull or slightly dark natural lip tones.
How much White should I add to lighten a Powder Lip shade?
Start with small ratios and test on a color swatch before application: 10–20% White — subtle lightening, reduces saturation slightly while maintaining the shade's character. 30–50% White — moderate lightening, creates a clearly lighter, more pastel version. 60–80% White — significant lightening, creates a very sheer, barely-there version. Always test the blend on a color swatch and allow to dry before assessing—wet pigment appears darker than the healed result.
Is Powder White compatible with NANO Organic and NEO Organic lip pigments?
Powder White is specifically formulated for the Powder Lip Pigment collection. Cross-formula mixing with NANO Organic (liquid) or NEO Organic (liquid) pigments is possible but may produce different consistency and blending behavior due to the different base formulas. For the most predictable results: use Powder White with other Powder Lip shades, NANO White (CTPM036YD) with NANO Organic shades, and NEO Organic Soft White with NEO Organic shades.
Can Powder White be used for dark lip correction?
Powder White can be used as a corrective lightening agent over previous lip PMU that has healed too dark. Apply in thin, even passes to gradually lighten the over-pigmented area. Important: the lightening effect is gradual—multiple sessions may be needed for significant lightening. White over a colored base will not produce pure white—it will lighten and soften the existing color. For very dark or heavily saturated previous PMU: professional PMU removal (saline or laser) may be more effective than White correction alone.
Does adding White to a Powder Lip shade affect its longevity?
Powder White is formulated with the same base as all other Powder Lip shades—mixing it does not reduce the longevity or stability of the final color. The only consideration: lighter, more diluted mixes (high White ratio) may appear to fade more noticeably over time simply because the starting color is lighter. For clients who want a light result with maximum longevity: use a moderate White ratio (20–30%) rather than a very high ratio (60–80%).
